Sulphur has been used in the rubber making industry since it was lump variety. Vulcanizing properties were discovered in the mid 1800’s. Sulphur was packaged in 25kg and 1000kgwpp bags. This gave the compound hardness, allowing it to be molded yet retaining the elasticity. Pencil erasers, rubber bumpers on automobiles, tires, and latex gloves all use some type of the product, but in different quantities and heat variations.
Rubber Makers Sulphur products vary widely in formulation and ro en lump up use. We produce Rubber Makers Sulphur in accordance to customer requirements with size milled ranging from 100 to 325 mesh (ASTM). Conditioning agents are added to improve flow ability, handling and dispersion characteristic of finely ground Sulphur. Oil is often added as a dust suppressant (0.5-1% oil) reducing the risk of an explosion due to Sulphur dust. Flow agents prevent caking and are especially useful when using automatic feed equipment for batching.
